This time, we're looking at one of the iconic actors of the 1960s and 1970s, Warren Mercer Oates 1928-1982. Movies like Two Lane Blacktop, Race The Devil, Dillinger, The Wild Bunch, Cockfighter, 92 In The Shade and most of all Bring Me The Head Of Alfredo Garcia would have been less than they were without Warren Oates, the sad, worldly, mostly on the wrong side of the law everyman with a cheeky grin and a lot behind the eyes.

Hello, I happened upon this site by chance. Found this thing about Warren Oates and gave it a listen. I like him in “Heat in the Night” and “Ride the High Country”. He and L. Q. Jones were in at least three films together. They are so creepy and yet wonderful in “Ride in the High Country”. He’s great in every show and movie he was in. I’ve seen most of his movies more or less.
