Firstly there's the Robert Aldrich directed WW2 drama Too Late The Hero also starring Cliff Robertson and Henry Fonda then we go to the 30 Year War in the 17th Century for The Last Valley, also starring Omar Sharif and Nigel Davenport.

This time around I look at racist rabble-rousing, not in the Australian Parliament but in the southern USA in the 1960s with 1963's Roger Corman directed movie The Intruder starring William Shatner, then we hit 1970 for one of Mel Brooks' least known movies, the Russia based comedy: The Twelve Chairs.

Paleo-Cinema Podcast 144- To Be Or Not To Be The Last Boy Scout

Hi cinephiles. This time around, thanks to Patreon supporter Maurice, I look at the 1942 anti-Nazi comedy To Be Or Not To Be, directed by Ernst Lubitsch and starring Jack Benny and Carole Lombard, then we go totally in another direction, namely 1990s action cinema for Tony Scott's 1991 action flick The Last Boy Scout starring Bruce Willis and Damon Wayans, with a script from none other than Shane Black.

Paleo-CInema Podcast 143 - The Third Man- The Country Girl

This time one of the podcast's Patreon patrons, Tom Dale from Canberra and I talk about a couple of dramas from the 40s and 50s. We start with Carol Reed's The Third Man from 1949 starrign Orson Welles, Joseph Cotton, Alida Valli and Trevor Howard then we hit 1954 for The Country Girl, a stage drama starring Bing Crosby, Grace Kelly and William Holden. Also there's feedback and a bit of a bonus at the end and I talk about retrieving lost song lyrics from the memory vault.

It all adds up to almost two hours of fun, one of the biggest episodes ever.

This time around I celebrate B-movies. First I'm grokking in fullness the 1954 Hawaii based film noir Hell's Half Acre starring Wendell Corey and Evelyn Keyes. Then we smash-cut to 1960 for the crime caper movie Seven Thieves starring Edward G. Robinson, Rod Steiger, Eli Wallach and Joan Collins. I also tell you about a dream I had and about how I robbed Crown Casino last night.

For 141 I look at a couple of westerns starring Marlene Dietrich. Firstly there's 1939's Destry Rides Again starring James Stewart and Brian Donlevy and then 1952's Rancho Notorious directed by Fritz Lang and also starring Arthur Kennedy and Mel Ferrer.

The Black Book) starring Robert Cummings and Arlene Dahl and one of the classic noirs, Robert Siodmak's Criss Cross starring Burt Lancaster, Yvonne De Carlo and Dan Duryea.

This time around I'm looking at Australian dicks. Not phalluses but good honest Australian detectives starting out with 1975's Scobie Malone starring Jack Thompson and Judy Morris then a decade later looking at the adaptation of Peter Corris'Cliff Hardy novel The Empty Beach starring Bryan Brown and Anna Maria Monticelli.
